Job Description:
UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an OPS Assessment Technology Technician to join Academic Technology, a unit within UFIT. Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.
As part of the Center of Instructional Technology and Training (CITT), this position is responsible for securely processing testing answer sheets and providing assessment technology support to instructors and teaching assistants (TAs). This role involves a positive customer service-oriented approach while advancing equitable, innovative, and evidence-based assessment practices and tools.
Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:
- Securely receive, prepare, and accurately process Scantron OMR and Gradescope testing answer sheets from a number of departments at UF, ensuring compliance with established policies and guidelines. This requires the ability to stand for an extended period of time to operate machines
- Generate test item reports and upload grades for batch Canvas LMS submission via the application program interface (API)
- Consult with instructors or TAs to assess needs, make recommendations, and provide assessment technology support
- Prepares learning aids, including instructional guides and tutorials, for assessment tool adoption and proficiency
- Assist with tracking performance metrics, updating workflows, as well as routine administrative tasks and special projects

Expected Salary:
$15.00 per hour
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and four years of appropriate experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following experience, abilities, and skills:
- Reliable and experience in maintaining confidentiality and/or securely handling private student records
- Demonstrated ability to complete assignments accurately with attention to detail and in a timely fashion
- A customer service-oriented approach and mindset with the ability to work collegially and interact effectively with a diverse constituency
- Willingness and self-motivation to learn new things
- Prior experience grading student work, processing Scantrons, and/or creating learning aids is a plus
- Knowledge of academic assessment methods and/or educational measurement
Special Instructions to Applicants:
This position requires U.S. work authorization.
This part-time position is ideally suited for four hours per day (10am-2pm), Mon-Fri, but can be adjusted.
