The Work You Will Do:

  • This position will serve as a liaison between State 404 permitting staff in the District and the Division.
  • Prepares policies and guidance regarding the State 404 permitting program and advises district offices regarding implementation.
  • Reviews and evaluates statewide data and makes determinations regarding environmental issues.
  • Serves as liaison with other state and federal agencies regarding work plan commitments.
  • Coordinates work plans and monitors programs for a segment of a major statewide program.

Pay:

$20.00/hour

Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position will work closely with the Submerged Land Environmental Resource Coordination Program and the DEP Regulatory District offices in order to accurately process State 404 applications and compile data for an annual EPA report, along with other State 404 permit related tasks.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing and analyzing data.
  • Knowledge of problem-solving techniques.
  • Knowledge of research techniques.
  • Knowledge of GIS data analysis and compilation of GIS data.
  • Ability to compile, organize and analyze data.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to analyze programs and proposed projects.
  • Ability to prepare reports and records.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university OR 4-years of work experience can substitute.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in environmental science or one of the natural sciences
  • Experience with ERP or 404 permitting
