OPS IT Support Assistant

Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an entry level OPS IT Support Assistant to join Academic Technology – Technology Support Services (AT-TSS), a unit within UFIT. This is a part time position with an hours expectation of up to 30 hours a week.

Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

  • Providing evening support for instructors using classroom technology and audio-visual equipment in classrooms, conference rooms, and event spaces at the College of Law
  • Responding to and resolving technical issues from faculty, staff, and students
  • Assisting with the installation and implementation of desktop and mobile computing devices, printers and other peripheral devices, and wireless computing and communications devices

Benefits

Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at a rate of 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.

Vacation accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status, and are intended to give the flexibility to enable units to close from December 26 to 31 when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis.

Expected Salary:

$12 – $14 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Knowledge of current and emerging technologies (e.g., PC desktop common applications, understanding of Windows and Mac Operating Systems)
  • Effective communicator, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrates high levels of customer service delivery
  • Ability to work independently and motivated to develop opportunities
