Job Description:
The Body Image and Stigma Laboratory in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology has an opening for a full-time OPS Research Coordinator beginning immediately (start date is negotiable). The position will involve coordinating NIH-funded research studies led by Dr. Rebecca Pearl. These projects are related to the topics of health-related stigma, weight stigma, and obesity treatment.
Job responsibilities include:
- Facilitate study recruitment, including coordinating outreach to community partners and tracking participant enrollment.
- Conduct participant screenings online and by phone and determining study eligibility.
- Schedule study visits, administering online questionnaires, managing subject payments, and ensuring completion of all study procedures.
- Coordinate and attending online intervention group meetings.
- Ensure protocol adherence & data quality.
- Prepare study materials and ordering study specific supplies.
- Manage data storage, entry, and verification using paper and electronic records.
- Assist with regulatory documentation, including preparation of Institutional Review Board (IRB) materials, NIH progress reports, and study registration records.
- Work proactively with other lab and study team members (including students and staff) and supervising research assistants.
- Assist with grant writing, manuscript preparation, and data analysis on an as-needed basis.
- Help to train new lab members in the above.
- Other duties as assigned.
Expected Salary:
$18.00 – $20.00 per hour; commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related social science, public health, or other health field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of clinical research experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Effective problem solving, communication, and writing skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to multi-task and have demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
- Must be able to interact sensitively with participants in discussions regarding health conditions and body weight.
- Knowledge of IRB and human research protection regulations.
- Proficiency with the Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) system and statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS) is a plus though not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or related productivity software.
