Description
The M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County is seeking a part-time Public Affairs & Community Engagement (PACE) Outreach Team member to increase community engagement with the department and its programs, classes, activities and events.
Examples of Important Duties
- Assisting with community outreach, including identifying current and new community contacts;
- Producing self-generated leads to increase the recognition of M-NCPPC, Parks and Recreation Department among Prince George’s County’s community;•
- Thoroughly following up and maintaining relationships with contacts;
- Maintaining and reporting accurate records (including reports, journals, surveys, spreadsheets) of interactions with the community using computer applications such as Microsoft Office and web-based forms;
- Reviewing weekly schedule and appointments with manager;
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders;
- Working as part of a team;
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Strong interpersonal and team player skills;
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail;
- You must have a valid driver’s license in accordance with both State and Commission rules and regulations. Driver’s licenses must be unencumbered by restrictions, revocations, suspensions, or points that could limit the employee’s ability to drive Commission vehicles or perform driving duties required of their position.
- Ability to multi-task a variety of projects and to meet deadlines;
- Ability to represent M-NCPPC in a professional manner internally and externally at events and meetings;
- Ability to work independently is essential;
- Proficiency in computer applications including the Microsoft Office applications;
- Experience in Outreach a plus;
- Ability to speak Spanish a plus.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
You must complete a criminal background check prior to hire.
Supplemental Information
Up to 29.5 hours per week. Requires flexible hours, including evening and weekend work. Some tasks require the ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, or walk.
Location: The PACE Outreach Team member will report to the main office weekly (7833 Walker Drive, Greenbelt, MD 20770), however the majority of work will be done throughout pre-assigned areas of the county

Limited Benefits for Seasonal Employees
Health Insurance Plans
You are eligible for specific health insurance benefits if you worked, on average, 30 hours per week during your first 12 months of employment or from October 3rd to October 2nd each subsequent period following your first 12 months of employment. This equates to 1,560 hours over a 12-month period.
If and when you are eligible for benefits, you will receive notification directly from the Health & Benefits Office.
Eligible Employees Pay 35% of the health insurance plan premium and The Commission Pays 65%.
