Job Description
Interco has an opening for a Commercial Analyst Intern in the Industrial Metals Trading Department at the company’s Commercial Operations office on The Hill in St. Louis, Missouri. Interco is looking for someone who wants to be great and work for a great company.
This job consists of conducting market analysis and diving into large datasets to uncover insights, trends, and patterns that drive business decisions. Utilizing tools such as SQL, R, Tableau, and PowerBI, the intern will assist in data cleaning, visualization, and analysis, contributing to ongoing projects and gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic, real-world environment. An outstanding candidate should be able to write articulate and succinct emails, process and analyze information and synthesize both pricing and market information back to the commercial team. The ideal candidate will be results-oriented, with the ability to work both in a team environment and alone.
Qualifications
Skills:
- Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and interpret results to provide actionable insights
- Basic understanding of database structures and the ability to write SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals
- Creative and critical thinking skills to approach problems from different angles and find effective solutions
- Basic understanding of project management principles, with the ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
- Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and methodologies as required, adapting to the fast-paced and ever-changing field of data analytics
- A keen interest in understanding business processes and how data analytics can be leveraged to support decision-making and drive value
Qualifications:
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Familiarity with data analytics tools and programming languages such as R for statistical analysis, SQL for database querying, Tableau for data visualization, and PowerBI for business intelligence
- Experience or coursework in creating compelling visualizations using tools like Tableau and PowerBI, translating complex data into understandable insights
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with statistical concepts and methods, with hands-on experience using R for data analysis
Additional Information
Compensation:
- $15/Hr

The patent-pending 22-acre 225,000 sqft Critical Mineral Recovery™ Lithium-ion battery processing plant in Fredericktown, Missouri is scheduled to open in Q3 2023
