Job Description

Effective and consistent running of the conveyors, auto palletizers and all other equipment in the Palletizing room. Always working to achieve zero production downtime through properly operating machinery and consistently completing assigned preventative maintenance tasks. Ensuring you achieve the desired results in terms of Quality, Safety, Hygiene and Waste. This will be achieved through having the knowledge and understanding of all machinery in the department and products they handle. Attention to detail and always operating within the required parameters of your machines.

Role and Activity
• Ensure palletizing area is clean, always organized and operating under factory standards.
• Complete assigned Master Sanitation Schedule and/or cleaning check list.
• Operate the palletizing system, and provide mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic service to assigned palletizing system equipment to standard operating procedures understanding the “WHY”, not just the HOW.
• Skills to include basic electricity, mechanics, work order reporting, downtime reporting, communication with peers, leadership, organization, follow-through, parts usage reporting and excellent interaction skills.
• Complete work order management in SAP, including work order completion, print task list associated with work order, parts management (min-max levels of spare parts and work order for purchase requisition), maintain Bill of Materials (BOM), PM workflow completion for palletizing.
• Assemble and disassemble palletizing equipment and ensure machinery is functioning properly with a “clean as you go” principle.
• Prepare PM full kit that contains all the spare parts required for end of the year PM’s.
• Review and update PM task list as needed.
• Correct use, storage and set up of all tools and parts.
• Ability to plan, prioritize work and make independent decisions.
• Properly fill out all paperwork needed for palletizing operation.
• Ability to work on computer (SAP, excel, email).
• Ensure effective hand over with the next shift, all faults and issues reported.
• Keep yourself informed of production plans and any changes. It is important to be proactive in finding out what is happening rather than waiting to be told.
• To ensure production meets targeted outputs through effective control of the palletizing process.
• To communicate effectively with the entire team, including production and maintenance.
• Ensure health and safety requirements are fully met and a positive safety culture is maintained throughout the department
• Ensure you walk the talk always using the safety, quality, and productivity mindset, attend to the issues as and when they happen
• Promote the Froneri culture of employees being owners rather than just employees
• Act with a sense of urgency to accomplish goals and tasks.
• Always stay focused! Make timely decisions. Find root cause and solution to problems.
• Train others as assigned.

• Reducing downtime through preventative maintenance, close monitoring of equipment and prompt repairs when needed.
• 95% of PM completion
• Reduction in accidents and incidents on a YOY basis
• Ensuring area is checked after repairs are completed with tools and parts stored in the correct places
• Keep waste to a minimum
• Clean organized area always
• Daily, weekly, monthly production targets are fully met

The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The pay scale disclosed below has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay scale for employees currently in this role is $27.91 per hour. A good faith estimate of the range the company will pay for successful applicants for the current opening is $27.91 per hour.
