University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis is currently looking for an experienced paralegal to work closely with in-house general counsel and key administrators across the university to support legal, contract and enterprise risk management.

You will get to:
- Performs activities related to contract and document review, accessing and maintaining computerized databases, and contract life cycle management software for purpose of supporting University legal affairs. Utilizes approved forms and guidelines to review and prepare contracts.
- Supports enterprise risk management by coordinating committee, managing risk register database, and supporting Enterprise Risk Management Committee’s risk assessment.
- Reviews conflicts of interest disclosure forms to ensure compliance with University policies
- Organizes and maintains legal documents, records, files, reviews bills and logs according to established procedures. Coordinates correspondence and billing with outside counsel or external agencies. Maintains General Counsel web page by updating contract forms, guidelines, policies, and tools for end users.
- Aids internal and external investigators and counsel with gathering information necessary for investigations, discovery, and disclosure.
- Performs legal research and reports using Lexis-Nexis and computer databases.
- Create, review, and use templates and other time-saving forms and letters from existing and completed work products.
- Performing highly confidential administrative duties to assist the General Counsel that requires a broad and comprehensive knowledge or ability to research and audit the University’s policies, procedures, operations and applicable state and federal law;
- Draft correspondence and routine legal documents.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in paralegal studies, public administration, business administration or any field
- Four (4) years of paralegal experience or directly related legal support experience, preferably in higher education or non-profit setting. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
- Paralegal certification from NALA and the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office skills are essential. Experience using contract or document management and litigation support software is preferred.
- Must work well under pressure and relate professionally with all faculty and staff. Must be able to relate and negotiate professionally with various outside companies.
- Ability to work independently to solve problems and schedule tasks in an environment of changing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience creating technical documentation. Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional, and harmonious relationships with supervisors, team members, faculty and staff.
- Strong personal management skills emphasizing: time management, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to learn and keep pace with changing technologies.
