Seeking a Paralegal Assistant with 2 years of experience to join our legal team. As a Paralegal Assistant, you will provide essential administrative and clerical support to our legal professionals. Your role will involve handling sensitive and technical legal information, maintaining files, preparing legal documents, and coordinating day-to-day activities.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Paralegal Assistant: $21.74 – $25.00/hour

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Paralegal Assistant Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepares a variety of legal documents such as notices, motions, orders, stipulations, writs, subpoena, and judgments on default, declarations, complaints and processes of service.
  • Serves as the principal clerical and administrative support person for the assigned Assistant U.S. Attorney(s) by carrying out and coordinating all legal clerical and day-to-day administrative support type activities.
  • Maintains a calendar of all assigned active cases, which includes keeping track of filings, hearings, trial dates, and scheduling conferences and interviews.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Paralegal Assistant Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Requires a minimum of 2 years of legal secretarial experience, although higher education may be substituted for some of the experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office packages, especially MSWord.
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and federal background check is a must.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
