Description
The Park Attendant position is responsible for the parking areas at Pine Island and Rogers Park.
This recruitment is for one (1) part-time seasonal Park Attendant position.
Schedule: Friday – Sunday 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Examples of Duties
- Collects parking fees from the patron entering the park.
- Monitors parking meters and does general routine maintenance on collection box in park.
- Directs cars to available parking locations/spaces, at the same time keeping traffic congestion to a minimum.
- Maintains appearance of the park (i.e., removal of trash and debris), including parking lot, beach, showers, picnic area, playground area, volleyball courts, etc.
- Cleans and restocks restrooms.
- Raises and lowers flag each day.
- Regular attendance.
Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma (GED).
- Willing to train. Experience in performing manual labor preferred.
Other requirements
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License and be insurable by current insurance carrier.
- This position is subject to the Hepatitis B vaccine when necessary.

- Ability to maintain parking meters general maintenance of equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with departments, associates and the general public.
- Ability to deal tactfully with the public in providing information and/or explaining County regulations.
- Knowledge in general gardening, tools and equipment

Equipment Used
County vehicle, garden tools, air-blower.
Environmental Conditions
Working outside and with moving vehicles, working closely with others and alone. Work requires the use of cleaning chemicals.
Physical Skills and Abilities
Constant: Use of fingers; good near and distant vision; good hearing with or without aid; walking and standing. Frequent: Light lifting and carrying and moderate lifting up to 100 lbs
