Required Education and Experience:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and
- Six (6) months or more experience as a custodian with an industrial, janitorial firm, or commercial business and thorough knowledge of custodial materials and methods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience with various types of floor maintenance equipment including floor scrubbers, extractors, buffers, and carpet cleaners.

- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license by date of hire. New employees establishing resident status in the State of Oregon must obtain an Oregon driver’s license within 30 days (ORS 807.020 (1)).
- Ability to maintain an acceptable driving record throughout employment.
- Successful completion of a background investigation to the satisfaction of the City.
Available Schedule:
- 8 hours daily, Tuesday – Thursday, 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm
The anticipated hiring range for the Park Custodian (part-time) position is $18.58 (first step) to $19.51(second).Directly related experience and qualifications will be evaluated alongside others who perform work of comparable character as required by Pay Equity Law. Six steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.

Essential Functions of the Position:
- Safely drives City vehicle to various work locations.
- Cleans, sanitizes, and disinfects park restrooms fixtures, floors, and walls.
- Coordinates with management on restroom custodial stock orders.
- Sweeps, mops (wet and dry), and refinishes/paints restroom floors.
- Dusts and polishes fixtures and equipment.
- Washes/cleans windows, mirrors, walls restroom partitions, urinals, and toilets.
- Mitigates and cleans graffiti vandalism on restroom walls, doors, and partitions or other areas as assigned within the park system.
- Repaint interior and exterior of park restrooms as needed throughout the season.
- Empties and cleans waste receptacles.
- Disposes of collected waste and other materials.
- Adheres to safety practices and standards when performing all duties.
Other Functions of the Position:
- Scope of assigned area will depend on departmental and/or citywide operational structure and is at the discretion of the Supervisor.

Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
- To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to complete considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
