Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from high school or GED.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- One year of experience in a general labor role.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
Current technical/professional knowledge of machinery, such as:
- Power tools
- Leaf blower
- Hedge trimmer
- Pressure washer
Available Schedule:
- Wednesday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
The anticipated hiring range for the Parking Garage/Parking Lot Maintenance Workerposition is $18.36 (first step) to $19.28 (second step). Directly related experience and qualifications will be evaluated alongside others who perform work of comparable character as required by Pay Equity Law. Three steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.

Examples of Job Duties
These duties are a representative example; position assignments may vary depending on the business needs of the department and organization. This position:
- Routine interior and exterior maintenance on parking garages and surface lots.
- Light maintenance including painting, minor repairs and pressure washing
- Performs limited landscape maintenance and irrigation repairs.
- Open and closes parking garage restrooms. Services parking garage restrooms to ensure they are clean and fully stocked.
- Performs related labor duties such as cleaning, picking up litter and debris, emptying trash, graffiti removal in parking lots and parking garages.
- May also clear walkways, rake leaves, remove snow, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
- Work sometimes performed in right-of-way areas.
- Performs a variety of minor routine building maintenance tasks; identifies and reports building maintenance needs.
- Adheres to safety practices and standards when performing all duties.
- Scope of assigned area will depend on departmental and/or citywide operational structure and is at the discretion of the Supervisor.
- Upholds the values of the organization and has strong customer service orientation.
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance, arrive and remain in complete uniform before and during scheduled shifts.
- Must have the ability to handle job stress and interact effectively and professionally with members of the public that can be belligerent, and at times combative. Interaction with the homeless population and cleaning up behind them could be on a daily basis.
- Must be honest and truthful in all tasks and responsibilities.
- Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
