General Description

This position is responsible for supporting the development and administration of Parks and Recreation programs. Works under general supervision.
This position is non-exempt. Fair Labor Standards Act overtime provisions will apply.

Primary Duties
- Serves as the lead for recreational programming.
- Greets and directs visitors to the appropriate areas and/or provides information and assistance as requested.
- Supports and administers a variety of senior recreation, environmental education, special events, splash pad, waterfront, aquatic and athletic programs.
- Creates content for daily recreational programs.
- Produces, oversees and edits virtual programming opportunities.
- Develops marketing resources for recreational programs.
- Interprets program rules and regulations.
- Develops monthly newsletters for programs in area of responsibility.
- Assures staff is current on emergency safety procedures and certifications as assigned.
- Prepares invoices and processes payments for programs and services. Processing deposits
- Oversees contractual providers in City parks. Resolves vendor issues.
- Monitors programs, events, and systems.
- Creates weather cancellation updates through the city’s weather software.
- Troubleshoots various softwares in area of responsibility such as RecTrac and WebTrac.
- Creates, oversees and audits sponsorship programs.
- Responsible for conflict resolution on rentals and program concerns.
- May assist in budget preparation and monitoring; and prepares payroll.
- Provides support for aquatic operations.
- Performs audit of programs.
- Processes letters and forms, schedules, creates manuals/booklets, purchase orders, and creates related paperwork/files/records using both manual and computer resources. Performs data entry as needed. Updates access codes as needed.
- Utilizes computer based word processing software and processes letters, forms, reports, schedules, manuals, booklets, requisitions, purchase orders and related paperwork. Types information or enters data into computer containing technical terminology. Retrieves data for reports.
- Oversees the scheduling of Park Ranger and lifeguard programs within scheduling software.
- Performs research and retrieval of records. Conducts statistical comparisons of information. Sets up registration procedures and forms to be completed by participants. Completes checking and program participant verifications.
- Serves as the liaison between programs and outside organizations.
- Develops and creates regular content for Parks & Recreation Vlog.
- Gathers data, retrieves records, conducts and participates in surveys, compiles information, and creates reports and presentations as required or requested.
- Performs office management functions and coordination to include: maintains records and files, performs duties related to records retention and disposition, and orders office supplies.
- Coordinate records retention. Conducts research, retrieves records and oversees preparation and maintenance of Division records.
- May maintain vehicle files and reports along with completing monthly fuel usage reports.
- Attends staff and event meetings.
- May operate and carry a departmental hand held radio.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates Degree
- Two (2) year’s work experience in a recreational and/or leisure services related field.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License Class E.
In some cases, an equivalent combination of higher education and experience may be considered, provided that the education and experience is in a relevant and related field.

Works inside in an environmentally controlled space as well as outdoors in the elements. The position is exposed to no unusual environmental hazards.
