Here’s what you can expect to do in this role:

  • Perform manual labor to maintain and repair the City of Saint Paul’s parks and recreation facilities such as parks, parkways, recreation centers, and other structures.
  • Drive vehicles, operate a variety of tools and equipment including floor machines, and safely uses chemicals for maintenance work.
  • Conform with all department, city, and state safety rules and regulations.
  • Inspect and perform grounds keeping services, maintain ice skating rinks, and perform snow removal as assigned.

Information Specific to this Position:
Hours and schedules will vary, weekend and holiday work may be required.Training will be provided.

Requirements
Must have two seasons of full time work (at least 1000 hours) in park maintenance or custodial work and one year of experience driving with a valid driving license.

Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D Driver’s License or equivalent out of state driver’s license.

Selection Process Information
Selection Process: Applicants who meet the minimum job requirements and receive an assessment score of 75% or higher will be placed on a hiring list for consideration. You will be notified of your status. A Hiring Manager will consider those applicants eligible for hire. You will be notified if you are invited to participate in the final selection process which may include an interview, job simulation, work sample submission, or other evaluation method.
