Part-Time Administrative Assistant, Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX

Position Summary

The part-time Administrative Assistant will assist the Equal Opportunity and Title IX office with the management of day-to-day operations and compiling information for formal and informal resolutions around inquiries and investigations. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for (1) compilation of sensitive data, information, and exhibits for investigations at the University of Denver; and (2) scheduling events, meetings, and appointments. The position requires excellent organization skills, the ability to multi-task, and outstanding communication skills providing positive, respectful, and independent interactions with a very diverse array of stakeholders.

This is a non-benefitted position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions

The Administrative Assistant will work closely with all members of the EOIX team including the Associate Vice Chancellor/Title IX Coordinator, deputy Coordinators, investigators, and the ADA Coordinator. They will interact with various members of the University community including complainants, respondents, people requesting disability-related accommodations and from various offices including Human Resources and Inclusive Community, Student Affairs and Inclusive Excellence. The Administrative Assistant will organize and prepare information in support of office responsibilities, including greeting visitors, answering and returning phone calls, scheduling meetings and other activities and entering information into the office database. Specifically, the Administrative Assistant will:

  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Take accurate minutes of meetings and interviews
  • Greet and assist visitors to the office
  • Provide polite and professional communication
  • Maintain paper and electronic filing systems for records and messages
  • Route and distribute incoming mail and email
  • Answer routine letters and email
  • Reply and attach files to incoming messages
  • Work with Investigators to compile Investigation Reports
  • Schedule appointments, meetings and hearings
  • Carry out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning, etc.
  • Use computers for spreadsheet, word processing, database management, and other applications

Required Qualifications

  • High school degree

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment.
  • Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is moderate to high.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

  • Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period.
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.

Hourly Range

The hourly range for this position is $20.00 – $23.00.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
