Assists Transit Manager with validating vendor invoices and records and maintaining records for program(s) with multiple funding sources. Demonstrates fundamental accounting knowledge and skill in performance of basic accounting tasks; including but not limited to: balancing deposits, tracking program account usage and assistance with data collection to prepare reports. Analyzes ridership, driver and vehicle data within transportation program to solve or research issues. Adhere to all Division, County, FTA and KDOT transportation policies.
INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
- Validates and records vendor ridership from received invoices and trip logs.
- Calculates ridership data for KDOT reporting purposes.
- Performs specialized clerical and accounting tasks.
- Accurately data enters information into the computer system.
QUALITY CONTROL
- Completes initial review of rider fares for deposit.
- Reconciles program funds as invoiced and provides record of usage to Transit Manager.
- Participates in special projects as directed by the Transit Manager.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Provides information and assistance regarding transportation options or other referrals.
- Provides phone support for Transportation Coordinator.
- Rider services: Ride card preparation for in-office pickup and mailings, fee collection.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Minimum of one (1) year experience in office based and/or data entry position. Minimum of one (1) year experience in record keeping and accounting. Intermediate or advanced computer skills needed in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Typing and 10-Key Test required with a minimum of 35 words per minute.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s degree or greater from an accredited college or university. Two (2) years’ experience in office based and/or data entry position. Two (2) years’ accounting and bookkeeping experience. Minimum of one (1) year experience in customer service. Advanced computer skills needed in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Bilingual skills a plus.
