*Salary Range: $22.37 – $31.12 per hour

PURPOSE: Performs a variety of administrative functions in support of outreach for ORISE STEM Workforce Development (WD) research participation programs. Assists with outreach, engagement, and communication activities. Interacts with sponsors, mentors, applicants, participants, alumni, colleges and universities, professional organizations, and the general public. Works with STEM WD staff on programs involving undergraduate and graduate students, postgraduates, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as technical lead and oversees coordination of Oak Ridge Participant Programs (OPP) Zintellect postings, OPP Outreach Tracking process, and the OPP Zintellect Opportunity email box. Ensures appropriate and effective project descriptions and eligibility filters. Makes recommendations to improve consistency, efficiency, quality, and accuracy. Communicates with program staff, mentors, and sponsors to gather information and assist as needed. Trains program staff and provides guidance to mentors and sponsors on posting requirements and using Zintellect.
  • Tracks, coordinates, and updates Outreach Resource Board listings and assists programs in identifying, developing, and utilizing additional posting vehicles to increase ROI. Maintains OPP Outreach SharePoint resources including the development and presentation of enhancements.
  • Assists in the delivery of communication, ListServ announcements, and email campaigns. Conducts communication and outreach activities, including job boards, Handshake, LinkedIn Recruiter, CRMs, social media, and other commercial services including content data creation and sourcing for outreach purposes.
  • Assists in creating communication, engagement, and outreach materials (websites, videos, print, and social media) for internal and external use including design, development, and reporting. Creates, formats, edits, and proofreads correspondence, program literature, announcements, presentations, reports, word processing, presentation, graphic, database, and spreadsheet software. Makes recommendations to improve consistency, efficiency, quality, and accuracy.
  • Represents ORISE STEM WD and supports activities related to outreach events, both in person and virtual, including interacting with potential applicants, participants, alumni, mentors, sponsors, and staff. Serves on teams, committees, and on special projects.
  • Provides content support for OPP websites, social media, and SharePoint sites. Assists with technology solutions for outreach events. Assists with development and management of surveys, and development of electronic forms.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, scientific, technical, education or related field and 0-2 years of job related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience performing duties as described may be substituted for the minimum requirements.

  • Must be experienced or have the ability to quickly achieve competency in Zintellect (participant management system), including opportunity posting requirements, application, sponsor review, and selection procedures. Must be experienced with Handshake, LinkedIn, and other outreach tools. Must have experience in communication including social media, websites, etc.
  • Must be self-directed and capable of processing and prioritizing multiple tasks and handling a large and varied workload with minimum supervision. Must demonstrate problem solving skills, the ability to gather information and provide recommendations, and the ability to work as part of a team. Must be able to deal effectively and tactfully with a variety of people at various academic levels, professional and cultural backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of communication theories and practices, especially those related to writing, editing, and document development. Must be familiar with all forms of media and electronic communication (e-mail, Listservs, etc.). Must be familiar with new and evolving technology related to the internet and social media. Must have demonstrated writing and editing skills. Must be able to communicate information clearly.

*The candidate’s starting salary will be determined upon hire and ORAU will use salary survey data, internal comparators, and the candidate’s qualifications to determine salary.
