Product Manager – Access Control and Intercoms

Required to Apply:

  • 2+ years of Product Management experience
  • 2+ years of technical Access Control/Commercial Intercom/ PACS experience

Location: Remote within the US – Ideally commutable to Santa Ana, CA

Responsibilities

You’ll personally lead one of our award-winning key products. As a self-starting product manager, you’ll drive our product vision, strategy, platform definition, feature priorities, release priorities, competitive positioning, and long-term direction, in addition to tactical sprint guidance and release launches.

Develops products by identifying potential products; conducting market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction; developing marketing strategies. The product manager owns and champions the Freedom and Intercom lines as part of an overall solution internally and externally.

  • Determines customers’ needs and desires by specifying and performing the research needed to obtain market information.
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines and solutions by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company’s products to competitors’ products.
  • Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives.
  • Obtains product market share by working with Sales and Marketing Leadership to develop product sales strategies.
  • Assesses product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results.
  • Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.
  • Facilitates inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules.
  • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
  • Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production.
  • Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.
  • Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Product Management experience
  • 2+ years of technical Access Control/Commercial Intercom/ PACS experience

Technical Skills Needed

Access control, low voltage, intercom audio, and video, electronics engineering, physical security design, JIRA, Confluence, plus normal business project management, technical and communications software.

Product Manager Skills Needed

Product Management, People Management, Understanding the Customer, Product Development, Requirements Analysis, Pricing, Planning, Competitive Analysis, Sales Planning, Inventory Control, Financial Planning, Strategy, AGILE and Waterfall Product Development. Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must.

Strong preference is given to candidates with direct experience with physical security manufacturing and software development processes, from any Product, Project, Engineering, or Sales-Engineering perspective.

Your salary/compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience.

In the spirit of pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is between $80,00 – $130,000 annually.
