Job Title: Part-Time Event Host (Two Positions)
Reports Directly To: Events Coordinator

Job Group: Hourly
Salary Range: $12 per hour

Primary Function:
Serve as a support by hosting events for both external customers and district-wide sponsored events.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Serve as the Francis Tuttle representative and point of contact for hosted events.
  2. Maintain a professional and positive attitude during all interactions and events.
  3. Ensure events are set up and organized correctly prior to the event per the customers’ requests including seating, registration, and catering tables when applicable.
  4. Provide superior guest support by meeting the client the day of the event at the assigned location, reviewing client needs (pivot if necessary).
  5. Continued management of the event for the duration to include but not limited to: preparing refreshments, assisting with technology needs and any reasonable customer requests.
  6. Collaborate with the Facilities Team and IT Services team to troubleshoot possible issues.
  7. Act quickly to resolve unforeseen issues or disruptions to ensure a quality guest experience.
  8. Review safety protocols and emergency procedures with the client upon arrival.
  9. Ensure all external guests wear a visitor badge while on campus.
  10. Assist with event cleanup and teardown for both external and internal events.
  11. Assist with district-wide internal events such as Welcome Week, community outreach events, recruitment events, student ceremonies, etc.
  12. Assist at all campus locations, Danforth, Portland, Reno, and Rockwell campuses.
  13. Ability to be present on the job as described under working conditions and contract details.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience with events is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational & customer service skills are a must.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain professional at all times is required.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of different types of personalities and departments across the district.
  • Must work well within a team, as well as independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure.
  • Must have PC hardware/software skills.

Working Conditions:
Moderate physical effort with some lifting is required. This includes bending and stooping, reaching high places and pushing loaded carts. Reliable, dependable and punctual attendance. This is not an exhaustive list and reasonable accommodations will be made as needed.

Organizational Relationship:
Part-time personnel position reporting to the Events Coordinator.

Contract Details:
Twelve-month contract subject to annual renewal. Working days/hours: Monday – Friday with hours primarily between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., but hours may vary based on events and needs of district. May include some evenings and Saturdays. Working a minimum of 20 hours per week not to exceed 29 hours per week.
