The Part-Time Front of House Lead is responsible for liaising between the public, clients and operational departments before, during and at the conclusion of all assigned events and ensures that facilities, equipment, physical setup and personnel provided meet the requirements of the event and the client’s contractual agreements. The Front of House Lead also oversees that move in, duration, and move out of events are executed in accordance with pre-arranged details and building policy. This position includes the coordination and indirect supervision of support personnel and services. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, has a passion for customer service and is capable of detailing multiple events simultaneously while maintaining high quality expectations.

Work Hours:
This position works in-person only and requires flexibility to work nights and weekends in addition to pre-determined office hours throughout the work week. The work schedule varies based on the events schedule and will include mornings, nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Addresses and resolves problems while remaining calm under pressure and maintaining exemplary customer service
  • Coordinates with clientele to create production schedules and room layouts based upon event needs and meets and enforces deadlines with limited supervision
  • Under general supervision, assists managers with calculating and communicating with clients regarding estimates of potential costs incurred throughout planning process and execution of events
  • Provides onsite coordination to ensure smooth execution of events, including real-time management and troubleshooting
  • Ensures that setup of in-house and/or 3rd party equipment is in accordance with lease requirements and follows safety standards as related to fire and health codes
  • Directs the work of contract personnel including, but not limited to, ushers, security guards, caterers and decorators, with indirect supervision of all event support staff
  • Serves as a secondary contact for large-scale events and conferences on an as-needed basis

Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Associate Degree in hospitality, communications, public relations or directly related field and two years of event coordination experience

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with event management software such as or similar to Event Draw and Ungerboeck
