Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Program Supervisor, incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing and facilitating recreation programs for youth. The incumbent assists in the supervision of after school activities, summer programs, school breaks and holiday programs, including but not limited to field trips.
Examples of Essential Functions
Assists in the planning, promotion, organization, scheduling and leading activities for youth and adult programs.
Assists in the direction and supervision of social recreation play and team activities of children in outdoor/indoor play areas; teaches rules and playing skills of standard team and individual games and activities.
Maintains safety and health standards at all times while encouraging healthy and safe behavior; provides basic first aid and guidance to youth.
Communicates and responds to inquiries regarding the department, use of facilities, programs and leisure activities.
Maintains records of attendance, programs, activities equipment and supplies.
Recommends and/or drafts the writing of reports and requisition forms for supplies and programs; reports need for repair or maintenance work to building, equipment or facilities.
Prepares snacks/food for participants.

Minimum Qualifications
Training and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent with two (2) years of experience in Recreation programming or a combination of training and experience.
Must possess a valid Florida Driver License.
