At a Glance! LCC is looking for a Stage Technician that uses creative thinking to solve problems and has the ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment. The stage/theater technician performs a variety of technical duties associated with the set-up, strike, and operation of The Rose Center for the Arts productions and events. There is a heavy emphasis on supporting events and productions in the Wollenberg Auditorium.

This position is categorized as a Stage Technician 1, under State of Washington Class Specification. This position is a temporary classified position not to exceed 1050 hours in a 12 month period. This position requires in person availability.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities

  • Install lighting, scenery, audio and video for theatre productions, concerts, lecture, and other events in the Rose Center’s Wollenberg Auditorium
  • Perform a variety of duties related to the general maintenance and repair of theatre facilities and equipment
  • Live streaming as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Typical Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year experience in one or more of the following: lighting, audio/visual, deck crew
  • Lighting experience to include: light board operations, patching, hanging, focusing, minor repairs, etc.
  • Audio/visual to include: sound board operations, patching, experience with wired and wireless mics, setting up small PA’s, knowledge of projectors, computers (Mac/PC), and some video
  • Organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and finish projects on time
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of ETC Ion, Behringer Wing, Black Magic video switcher
  • Carpentry experience: small and large power tools, following diagrams, plans, and schematics, rigging, etc.
