Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years experience of revenue operations, required.
  • Education: High school diploma/GED required.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Subject matter expert in the following job summary below. Strong computer and keyboard skills required; very detailed oriented. Outstanding customer service skills, excellent written and verbal communications, ability to multi-task and strong organizational skills required. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical insurance, and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred .
  • Licenses/Registrations/Certifications: none.
  • Insurance Verification – is responsible for ED insurance notification, verify and document insurance eligibility and plan benefits, including allocating correct coordination of benefits for the patient’s insurance via tools and resources available, such as online portals. Work exception reports to rectify patient data elements, POS collections for patient responsibility, educating patients on plan benefits, and backup to ED/Outpatient areas. Subject matter expert and mentor for team members, monitor workloads, and timely quality assurance review of daily census. Other duties as assigned.

    Pre-registration: Performs all tasks related to pre-registration of scheduled services in an efficient, accurate and professional manner to ensure that the patient, physician and hospital needs are met. Responsible for ensuring insurance and authorization is valid for date of service and financial clearance is complete. Contact patient to verify demographics and MSP requirements. Document standard insurance notes. Accurately completes all required fields and maintains an acceptable accuracy rate. Other duties as assigned.

    Patient Check-In: Responsible for providing professional, courteous, compassionate assistance to patients seeking services within Astria Health. Collection of patient details, preparing and explaining necessary documentation. Accurately completes all required fields and maintains an acceptable accuracy rate. Handle patient queries. Entering information into database and maintaining accurate patient records. Communicating important information with appropriate staff members. Answering hospital phone system and announcement of codes on overhead paging system. Performs insurance eligibility and allocating coordination of benefits for the patient’s insurance via tools and resources available, such as online portals. Work exception reports to rectify patient data elements, POS collections for patient responsibility, educating patients on plan benefits. Perform daily cash reconciliation and deposit. Other duties as assigned.

    Summary

    Work is primarily performed in an office setting and is considered sedentary work. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally. Requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Requires normal/corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires good manual and finger dexterity to operate computers, phones, and handle documents. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
