Overall Responsibilities
Public Consulting Group LLC (PCG) currently seeks highly organized and detail-oriented individuals with drive and determination to aid in our mission to support low-income families in San Diego County. PCG is seeking highly motivated and dependable Claims Specialist payment processing clerk with an interest in public service who can work in our San Diego CA Project’s finance function supporting our Family Services operation. The clerks will be responsible for accurately distributing benefit payments to suppliers/vendors on behalf of our customer for the support of CalWorks program participants. These staff will be responsible for executing, reconciling, tracking, and reporting on benefit payments in various software programs.
Specific Responsibilities
- Review, enter, and execute benefit payments timely and with a high degree of accuracy.
- Decision, reconcile, and research benefit payment transactions utilizing various software programs and bank portals.
- Monitor accuracy/timeliness of payment processing.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with partners including PCG staff, County staff, suppliers/vendors, and CalWORKs participants
- Support County staff and PCG Family Services staff.
- Provide daily, weekly, and/or monthly reporting statistics to supervisor for designated area of responsibility.
- Support supervisor with the monthly invoicing of benefit payment activities as needed.

Required Skills
- Proper etiquette including customer relation techniques, superior verbal and communications skills.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Ability to recognize and maintain the confidentiality of all materials in the work setting.
- Understanding of modern office methods and practices; efficient with computers.
- Demonstrated ability to use various computer systems, preferably WorkDay and MS Suite
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ability to partner and collaborate with both County and PCG staff from a diverse range of backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain a record keeping and follow-up system.
- Ability to work independently, requiring minimal supervision and on multiple projects simultaneously.
Required Education and Experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of MS Office Suite products.
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Accounting experience or background a plus.
- 1-2 years claims experience
Compensation
Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $19.50 – 23.50 HR. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role.
