OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a Payroll Analyst to join our team! This position is responsible for processing West Coast biweekly and weekly union and nonunion payrolls for exempt/non-exempt and union employees using SAP Employee Central Payroll and PeopleSoft payroll systems and, STAT and Workforce Software timekeeping systems in a multi-state environment. This position is also responsible for processing high volume of residuals, outside participations and writer payments for loan out corporations and individuals. High volume of garnishments and escheatment
Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
– Processing end to end union/nonunion payrolls using SAP Employee Central Payroll system and Work Force and STAT timekeeping systems
– Processing high volume of residuals, writers, outside participations and other contractual payments using PeopleSoft
– Ensure compliance of SOX controls and company policies as they relate to payroll
– Audit HR daily input for accuracy (i.e. new hires, terminations, pay rate changes)
– Balance/reconcile payroll loads
– Perform analysis of system processes and ensure accurate calculations, mapping etc.
– Process employee maintenance transactions (i.e. W-4 changes, direct deposit additions/changes, general deductions review/set up).
– Analyze specialized payroll system calculations such as retroactive pay, taxes etc.
– Assist with troubleshooting variances related to pay and taxes and process resulting corrections
– Process severance, and vacation payouts
– Process reversals and off-cycle payments
– Process leaves of absence payments and coordinate with state disability offsets
– Process miscellaneous transactions such as tuition reimbursements, expense reimbursements, bonus payments, RSU/stock options, imputed income, etc.
– Research and respond to employee and HR inquiries in a timely manner
– Process high volume of garnishments such as income withholding orders, tax levies, and child/spousal support orders, including setting up new vendors as needed and timely employer responses
– Respond to federal and state agency requests such as EDD audits, etc.
– Assist in testing of system implementation/upgrades identifying and resolving errors, missed processes etc.
– Keep abreast of payroll related federal and state legislation and company policies
– Provide excellent and professional customer service to employees and external departments
– Review and balance daily input of peers
– Process IRS lock-in letters
– Ensure union fringe benefits calculation are accurate
– Assist in testing union contract updates and test to ensure calculation in payroll are correct
– Other projects and duties as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– High school diploma, some college preferred
– 5+ years payroll related experience or equivalent
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
– Basic/intermediate math skills
– Ability to research, troubleshoot system errors and other complex payroll issues and bring to resolution
– Intermediate Excel skills
– Knowledge of payroll labor laws and tax laws
– Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and accuracy
– Experience with SAP Employee Central Payroll
– Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines
– Ability to organize and prioritize workload efficiently
– Must be customer service oriented and able to communicate effectively with all personnel levels
– Knowledge of Microsoft Office products with advanced excel skills
– Strong oral and written communication skills
– Strong time management skills
– Strong analytical skills
– General office skills and ability to operate various business software

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $63,000.00 – 84,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
