Overview
Precision Opinion, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and analytical-focused individual to join our dynamic team as a Part-time Payroll Specialist.
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for assisting in making sure employees are paid accurately and on time. The Payroll Specialist will calculate employees worked hours, wages, deductions, as well as maintain accurate payroll records. This role will work both with a team as well as exercises independent judgment and discretion in planning and carrying out the details of work procedures and methods.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains payroll information by collecting, verifying, calculating, and entering data.
- Update payroll records by accurately entering exemptions, insurance coverage, and job title and/or department/division transfers.
- Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages.
- Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting, verifying, and analyzing information.
- Promptly addresses payroll related questions from individual employees.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Conducts all other payroll functions by following policies and procedures.
- Other duties as deemed necessary by the Controller.
- Be available to work Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.
Education and Experience
- Experience with payroll software, preferred
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Accounting/Business, preferred
Requirements
- Microsoft Office experience, including an understanding of basic Excel formulas
- Must possess good mathematical and clerical skills
- Must be able to meet deadlines
- Must be reliable
- Must have good customer service and communication skills
- Must be available to work the days requested
Position Type
This is a part-time position, averaging 20-22 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.
