Description
Vincennes University is seeking applicants for a PC Technician in our Information Technology (IT) department. This is a full-time, support staff position located at the VU main site, in Vincennes, Indiana.
The PC Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, and overall support of University computers, accessories, and software for Vincennes University.
Duties and Responsibilities
- This position participates in the configuration, installation, testing and support of computers, accessories, associated hardware and software.
- Willingness to work nights and/or weekends as special situations arise
- Some limited travel may be required to remote campus locations and/or other sites for off-site support. Employee must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Set-up, troubleshooting, and configuration of our smart classrooms
- Set up/configure audio and conference equipment for University events as needed
- At times, answer phone calls and emails through our help desk.
- Provide technical assistance to computer system users. Answer questions and/or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone, or from remote locations
- Ability to work and prioritize duties without constant supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Other duties as assigned
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills. Great customer service skills required.
- Ability to interact with others including, but no limited to: co-workers, vendors, students, and end-users.
- Windows 7/8/10/11 experience
- Microsoft Office
- General Hardware/Software Support
- Mac OS experience
- Standard connectors and cabling
- Basic networking
- Employee will be required to attend various employee meetings, training, committees, and other special activities as depicted by the supervisor
- An Associates Degree in related field and/or equivalent real-world experience is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Administrative training preferred.

Physical Demands:
The employee must be able to lift and/or move computer related equipment such as: computers, printers, switches, etc.
