Position Summary:
As a Marketing Industry Leader you will strategically position EY’s distinctive brand (www.ey.com/bbww) throughout the Private Equity sector. Specifically, you will lead a team that raises awareness of the firm’s experience in solving complex issues in Private Equity (PE) management companies, funds and portfolio companies. This role will have US-wide scope and collaborate closely with our global industry centers.
Working closely with the Americas PE Industry Leader and Industry Markets Boards, you will play a crucial role in meeting go-to-market objectives and achieving revenue goals by developing the marketing plan, leading the implementation and evaluating the effectiveness of a wide range of brand and demand generating activities, including thought leadership and media relations, event development and management, and the use of digital and social media marketing.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Lead a marketing team that collaborates with industry sectors, service lines and accounts to develop market-facing initiatives that position EY around key business issues.
- Utilize a deep understanding of industry sector issues, buyers’ pain points and EY solutions, alliances and technology to develop a US-wide marketing strategy and budget to drive growth and achieve the market leadership plan.
- Execute multi-channel marketing programs, aligning appropriate resources internally and externally (PR, paid social, web, conferences/events, agency, vendors, influential organizations)
- Create distinctive thought leadership and marketing collateral, working closely with subject matter experts; manage the distribution, externally and internally, utilizing multiple formats and channels as appropriate
- Collaborate with Markets professionals (BD and accounts) to gather market insights and drive marketing assets into accounts; engage as an account team member on 1-2 Signature Priority Accounts
- Serve as a member of the Global Industry Marketing team to inform and activate global campaigns and deliver insights on US accounts and solutions
- Engage in peer networks with sector and service lines leaders to drive a consistent and coordinated EY voice in the market (One EY)
- Lead the efforts to measure, assess and report on marketing program effectiveness
- Effectively manage multiple concurrent marketing initiatives and budgets
- Work independently to resolve challenges while maintaining an active dialogue with all stakeholders
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
- Ability to understand the complex business of the relevant aligned industry sectors and the four EY service lines so that sector specific issues/solutions can be translated into marketing strategy and clear messaging
- Ability to work with stakeholders to synthesize solutions and prioritize “fewer, bigger, better” activities that differentiate EY and generate brand awareness with targeted buyers
- Equip our people to guide and advise the business on marketing prioritization and investment, enabling the delivery of heritage BMC services in new and innovative ways
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- A proven track record of success in a large, global and highly-matrixed enterprise – ideally in the professional and/or financial services industry
- Understanding of advanced marketing and communication principles and preferably, exposure to industry marketplace issues
- A solid understanding of the go-to-market and sales processes in a complex organization
- Strong leadership skills to coach and develop a team of sector marketers with agility and curiosity
- Ability to work independently, as well as in virtual teams
- Strong project management skills and proficiency at effectively managing multiple complex and time-sensitive projects
- Demonstrated ability to interface with senior management and team across groups of diverse stakeholders
- Proven talent at building relationships and influencing without authority to produce results and outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the talent to translate complex technical concepts into compelling marketing messages
- As a portion of this role involves creating time-sensitive materials for clients (internal and external) and programs in a fast-paced environment, efficient time management and prioritization skills are essential and extended hours are sometimes required
- Responsibility to adhere to internal reporting requirements and risk management protocols
Supervision Responsibilities:
- Lead team of geographically dispersed sector marketers and offshore support teams
- Responsible for development of team and performance management
Job Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a marketing or communications major. An MBA is a plus.
Experience:
- A minimum of 8-10 years of marketing and communications experience, with industry and/or professional services experience preferred.

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $129,600 to $242,400. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $155,600 to $275,500. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
