Manager, Marketing & Conference Services (Working Title: Marketing & Events Manager)

Students with majors in one of our 23 departments and institutes work with expert scholars, researchers and scientists to develop strong research, communication and critical thinking skills. Students learn to apply their skills in the classrooms, laboratories and libraries of a major research institution, and in the corporate, nonprofit and government sectors surrounding our campus in the heart of Atlanta.

The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking to hire an experienced Manager, Marketing and Conference Services. This position will be responsible for both events and strategic marketing for the Creative Media Industries Institute (CMII). For events, this position will plan and deliver the events and functions of programs; for marketing, this role will spearhead initiatives from ideation, to creation, to execution.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Manager, Marketing and Conference Services are the following:

Events Management

  • Partner with CMII Operations Manager to support departmental, cross-departmental, and partner/sponsored programs, initiatives and/or events.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including venue, vendors and staffing.

Marketing

  • Partner with CMII Operations Manager and Executive Director to identify marketing needs of the unit and drive awareness and interest in unit programs, initiatives, and/or events.

Social Media

  • Contribute to social media efforts including maintaining content calendar, creating relevant engaging text, images and video content, respond to all post engagements and inquiries, promote and recap related events.

Special Projects Work

  • Assist in special projects.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field and two years supervisory/managerial experience in conference planning, marketing, and advertising; or a bachelor’s degree and four years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience.
