Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a per diem Quality Improvement Project Manager.
In this role, the successful candidate Under limited supervision of the Director, the Quality Improvement Project Manager actively manages and promotes a culture of quality and safety throughout NYU Langone Medical Center, including internally-generated projects, and projects required by external regulatory and other entities
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in and act as a lead in clinical quality performance measurement and improvement activities in the Department of Clinical Quality and Effectiveness.
- Serve as a representative of the department at internal and external project workgroups and stakeholder meetings.
- Act as a professional role model and lead to other project coordinators, and may oversee their day-to-day activities
- In collaboration with NYULMC Information Technology staff, assure that applicable interfaces with other pertinent interfaces are established and maintained.
- Develop internal quality performance measures and regular reports, to support departmental and organizational improvement goals.
- Assure timely and accurate data submission to regulatory and external quality performance measurement registries
- Manage project communication with impacted areas across the enterprise and partnered organizations.
- Build and promote positive working relationships with all stakeholders, internal and external
- Provides support to departmental leadership on special projects
- Manage project meetings using project plans to meet key deadlines and ensure progress on the project.
- Assemble and maintain project plans and documentation of project progress and tracking key milestones using standardized project management tools, in accordance with departmental and organizational guidelines.
- Lead interdepartmental and inter-organizational projects as determined by Departmental leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in pertinent field (clinical informatics; information management; biostatistics; epidemiology; public health; health care administration; nursing; or similar field) with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with structured medical record review and abstraction, including evidence of superior abstraction reliability. Experience in leading and managing multidisciplinary teams, working with professionals with a variety of skills and backgrounds. Proven ability to design and lead complex quality performance measurement and improvement initiatives. Facility with the tools and techniques of quality performance measurement: measure design; data sources; data management; data analysis; graphic display of results. Familiarity with clinical information, including diagnostic coding and clinical databases. Facility with Microsoft Office suite, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Familiarity with other database and analytic tools a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills for a variety of audiences..
Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYS
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:RN with three years of clinical experience. Advanced facilitation skills in performance improvement, time/change management a plus.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $42.15 – $55.71 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
