Performance and Analytics Lead

ThePerformance & Analytics Lead is a critical member of the External Affairs team, working collaboratively with other departments and programs to use data to strengthen outcomes for children and families. In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of a new organizational performance and outcome measurement strategy and system, and guide, coordinate, and facilitate the development of program data collection, analysis, and reporting for an assigned portfolio of program or agency key performance indicators (KPIs). Core Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborate with program and agency leadership to support design and implementation of the agency’s performance and outcome measurement strategy and associated systems that advance the organization’s Blueprint for Impact and Strategic Plan.
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of data dashboards and other data communication tools to monitor and communicate agency and program performance toward outcome measures.
  • Work collaboratively with assigned portfolio of program and/or administrative leaders and staff to identify, assess, and monitor progress toward key performance indicators and program improvement measures, review areas of success and improvement including root cause analysis, identify areas for change, and support with identification of solutions.
  • Create, develop, and maintain relationships with program and agency leaders and staff to foster collaboration and trust and an understanding of and engagement in data, outcomes, and impact.
  • Perform both qualitative and quantitative data analyses.
  • Support configuration of and training on data collection systems.
  • Facilitate survey development, administration, and analysis for program and administrative departments and assist in the development or modification of evaluative instruments.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader External Affairs Team to understand data and implications for public policy strategies and share outcome and impact data externally.

Required candidate qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in public policy, sociology, or another closely related field
    OR
    Bachelor’s degree in public policy, sociology, or another closely related field with a minimum of three years of related experience and/or relevant training.
  • Strong data analysis skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel or other statistical software
  • Experience creating compelling data visualizations
  • Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills to effectively address varied audiences, and a significant level of comfort and experience in public speaking and leading meetings

Preferred candidate qualifications

  • Experience developing performance indicators at a program and/or organizational level
  • Experience or training in evaluating and selecting assessment instruments
  • Experience or training in developing and administering surveys
  • Experience designing, documenting, and building data collection systems
  • Statistics and program evaluation coursework
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Experience facilitating change management collaborations and processes
  • Experience completing literature reviews
  • Experience working with data in the social services or early childhood education field
  • Understanding of and commitment to trauma-informed, anti-racist, family-focused, and prevention-oriented values

Job details:

  • Compensation: $65,000-$69,000/year
  • Benefits: Medical/dental/vision insurance, 3+ weeks paid time off in the first year including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day (PTO increases with tenure); 11 paid holidays, supplemental insurance options, 401(k) with match (more benefits details here)
  • Location: Must be within reasonable driving distance to Chicago and available to work from home office at 200 West Monroe Street (downtown Chicago loop) 2x/week.
  • Schedule: Full-time, salaried. Regular business hours.
  • Student Loan Forgiveness: Brightpoint is an approved agency for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
