The Physical Therapy Assistant is a qualified professional who provides quality patient care under the direction of an evaluating Physical Therapist rendering Physical Therapy treatments according to an outlined plan of care and goals. The Physical Therapy Assistant manages movement dysfunction, enhance physical and functional abilities and promote optimal quality of life as it relates to movement and health. The Physical Therapy Assistant provides care to prevent the onset, symptoms and progression of impairments, functional limitations and disabilities that may result from diseases, disorders, conditions or injuries.
- Graduate of accredited Physical Therapy Assistants program
- License/Registration/Certification: Indiana Licensure or eligible for state licensure within 180 days, CPR certification current, BLS Course C (Basic Life Support).
- Must have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work with frequent interruption.
- Must demonstrate self-assessment, initiation, and the ability to work collaboratively on a team.
- Must have a customer service orientation and ability to communicate and listen effectively.
- Must demonstrate flexibility and the ability to accept change.
- A basic understanding of federal and state regulations regarding billing, compliance, documentation, and supervision of support staff as they relate to the practice of relevant discipline.
- Maintains knowledge of professional practice issues/changes locally and nationally.
