Overview
The Seasonal Maintenance Worker performs a variety of un-skilled and low-skilled maintenance work in the care and upkeep of parks and recreation facilities, outdoor areas, golf course, and other community spaces on a seasonal basis.
Essential Functions
1 Operates and uses a variety of motorized equipment and hand tools to perform maintenance and general care for parks and recreations spaces; safely uses push and riding mowers, hoes, fertilizer spreaders, weed eaters, edgers, etc. to trim, cut, edge, and water planted areas to provide the landscape with proper care.
2 Collects and disposes of litter and debris from the premises and surrounding areas to ensure cleanliness and
avoid potential hazards.
3 Operates utility vehicles to transport equipment, tools, and supplies on golf course property; determines the position of golf holes on each green and the position of markers on golf tees to relocate them to a more suitable area; rakes sand traps and cleans ball washers to provide quality playing conditions for users.
4 Prepares simple records regarding gas usage and time worked to provide immediate supervisor with adequate
records.
5 Cleans, checks, and performs minor repairs on equipment to ensure it is maintained in operational condition.
6 Performs any and all other work as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills
1 Knowledge of equipment and tools used in maintenance.
2 Maintaining and operating hand and power tools.
3 Knowledge and understanding of safety procedures
4 Ability to read and write.
5 Ability to perform a wide range of physical labor.
6 Establishing and maintaining strong relationships.
7 Communicating orally and in writing.
