We have a Plant Finance Manager position open at our Bowling Green, KY plant. In this role, you will be part of the local senior management team and will contribute towards the development and implementation of local strategy, by providing strong financial business partnering to the Operations team and driving ongoing cost efficiency.
The Plant Finance Manager position has typical business related hours, however, our plant operates 24/7/365 and the successful candidate must be flexible in their schedule to accommodate the needs of the operations leadership team.
Primary Purpose of Position:
This position manages and coordinates three primary areas :
- Cost Accounting – Daily/Weekly processes, Month end, forecasting, etc.
- Controllership – Inventory, Fixed Assets, SOX and accounting policy adherence for plant and associated warehouses
- Business Partnership – business decision support (AFE’s and other), support non finance team education of finance acumen (EVA as the lens), performance analytics and drive continuous improvement action
Essential Responsible Areas:
- Act as a trusted business partner to the plant leadership team to support decision making and driving EVA performance improvement. Analyze spending trends to identify opportunities, compliance adherence and standardization of processes
- In support of the plant: monitor and track monthly, quarterly and Year To Date (YTD) Key Performance Indicators (KPI) performance and conduct monthly business performance reviews with Plant Management team
- Perform and manage monthly accounting close and communicate results to plant operations team and the corporate Ball Packaging North & Central America (BPNCA) finance team effectively, accurately and timely in standardized formats
- Perform or manage the metal verification, reconciliation and inventory processes.
- Monitor adherence to SOX and internal control policies for all plant functions.
- Develop plant spending forecasts for annual operating plans (AOP, 3+9, 6+6 & 9+3), monthly POV and ad-hoc frequencies as necessary efficiently, accurately and timely in standardized formats.
- Maintain and ensure data integrity in the ERP system through proper item set-up, manufacturing accounting review and issue resolution.
- Participate and coordinate with physical inventories and reconciliation (full and cycle counts as appropriate) at plant and associated warehouses.
- Support finance led regional, divisional or otherwise initiatives to drive Economic Value Added (EVA) performance improvement, compliance adherence and standardization of processes.
- Management of local capital budgets, control and reporting, including all local investment proposals ( cradle to grave oversight from AFE creation to timely asset capitalization and project closure)
Position Requirements & Competencies:
- Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or work-related experience ; Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance preferred
- 3 years minimum job related experience.
- Working knowledge of business principles, legal practices, accounting practices, budgeting principles, computer information systems, manufacturing standard costing and generally accepted managerial practices and procedures.
- Strong leadership, negotiation and influencing skills
- Computer systems literacy; including strong Excel capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:
- CMA or CPA preferred
- Manufacturing finance experience, highly preferred.
- Experience with Hyperion, Essbase and/or Smartview.
- Experience managing projects.
- Experience working new build (greenfield ) projects.
Compensation & Benefits
– Hiring Salary Range: $ 90,400 – $138,000 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
– This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
