Primary Purpose of the Position:
Provides technical leadership to the Operations Finance Leadership team, being accountable for ongoing activities or objectives. Acts as first point of escalation on problem solving and/or autonomously leading projects or project steps. Performs wide variety of Plant Finance related tasks and financial analyses. This role serves as an intentional feeder role to Plant Finance Manager roles located across the entire US. Key areas of focus of the role are Cost Accounting, Controllership and Business Partnership
Essential Responsible Areas:
- Acts as a trusted business partner to Operations and Operations Finance leadership team to support decision making and driving EVA performance improvement. Analyse spending trends to identify opportunities, compliance adherence and standardization of processes
- Across the full North American manufacturing plant network (as defined by management) support a variety of activities in the financial space including but not limited to
- Delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual close reporting on a timely basis
- Plant spending forecasts for annual operating plans (AOP, 3+9, 6+6 & 9+3)
- Metal verification, reconciliation and inventory processes
- Monthly, quarterly and YTD KPI performance
- Adherence to SOX and internal control policies
- Capital investment support and control
- Acts as first financial point of contact in specific initiatives and projects; lead and influence others as necessary reinforcing accountability
- Pays attention to detail and is alert to business changes and how they might affect our business performance in the future
- Effectively communicates key summaries, presentations and financial views to management as required
- Reviews assigned financial areas and provides summative and relevant analysis to stakeholders
- Development towards learning all the key skills and responsibilities to perform the Plant Finance managers role in the future or as holiday / sickness coverage
Position Requirement & Competencies:
- Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or work-related experience
- Job related experience for 3 year(s) minimum
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance preferred
- CMA or CPA preferred
- Strong leadership, negotiation and influencing skills
- Systems literate including strong Excel capability
- Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize.
- Ability to apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard finance techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Working knowledge of the following areas:
- Finance and forecasting principles, accounting practices, legal practices, Economic Value Added (EVA),
- Business and economic principles and practices
- Financial modelling
- Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, JDE One World or similar ERP system, Hyperion Essbase and other applicable software applications
- Manufacturing standard costing
- Career development and ambition – This is an essential requirement of this role. This role serves as an intentional future feeder role to Plant Finance Manager roles located across the entire US. Upon suitable development within this role it would be the intention for incumbents to be able to move in to Plant Finance Manager role
- Mobility – Given the above it would be expected that incumbents are willing to relocate across the USA to support promotion in to a Plant Finance manager role in the future. In addition depending on specific projects and plant teams needs it may be necessary to travel to locations across the US to support and develop experience. Mobility is an essential requirement of this role.
- Travel: 10% normal ; 50%+ potential
Compensation & Benefits
– Hiring Salary Range: $ 80,000-$105,000 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
– This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
