Position Overview

In this role, you’ll help to repair a variety of construction equipment including production plants, conveyor systems & more! You’ll learn the inner working of each piece of equipment become an expert at what you do and expand your skillset by working on different equipment each day. You will also work with the local plant operators to set maintenance schedules and verify the proper day to day maintenance requirements are being done. We work hard, and we have fun doing it!

Wage: $28.00-$31.50/hrDOE w/ potential for overtime

Note: Wage scale for position is the full wage scale an individual can make based on performance, experience, and seniority throughout their time at the company.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Inspects, repairs, services, and maintains production plants and facilities.
  • Performs skilled mechanical diagnosis, maintenance and repair work on plant and other supporting facilities.
  • Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds, and maintains plant. Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
  • Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools.
  • Replaces defective parts, assemblies and subassemblies as needed.
  • Service and grease plant parts, i.e. change belts, grease bearings, and maintain cleanliness of the plant.
  • Operate forklift in a safe manner.
  • Welding, cutting and metal fabrication.
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.
  • Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Two years’ experience with general plant maintenance (diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems).
  • Two years general mechanic experience.
  • Electrical knowledge of 480 Volts preferred.
  • Previous welding, cutting and metal fabrication experience preferred.
  • Must pass DOT physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.
  • Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.

  • Demonstrates a willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays.
  • Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Truck Drivers, Heavy Equipment Operators and other employees.
  • Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Demonstrates the willingness to learn and work a variety of job tasks.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
