Plant Plumber III

Estimated starting hourly base rate is $41.31 hourly less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary, variable annual incentive, based on company performance factors. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, enhance, and build plumbing and pipework throughout the facilities.
  • Plan and execute plumbing assignments in coordination with Maintenance team and management.
  • Select material and estimate time and material cost for assigned projects and jobs.
  • Continuously monitor plant plumbing and pipework and promptly address issues as they arise.
  • Communicate with suppliers and manufacturers of equipment regarding repairs and/or installations.
  • Maintain daily records of all related work and provide regular reports.
  • Setup and operate maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Work closely with engineers and contractors on a regular basis to coordinate time and ensure availability of machinery and adherence to the production schedule.
  • Support the process of executing installations, repairs, replacements, and additional equipment or machinery throughout the facility.
  • Support maintenance team and management with special projects and work orders as needed.
  • Advise and train junior level Plumbers and Mechanics in coordination with management.

Required Qualifications

  • Trade school or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Formal accredited apprenticeship to plumber trade or equivalent.
  • 5 years’ industrial plumbing experience with knowledge of plumbing practices, tools, materials, and methods.
  • Proficient at repairing pumps, pressure control valves, steam traps and flow monitoring gear.
  • Experience with steam fitting and/or automatic fire sprinkler maintenance.
  • Demonstrated understanding of uniform plumbing code, uniform mechanical code and NFPA 13.
  • Prior food, pharmaceutical or nutraceutical industry experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, teamwork, decision-making, organization, and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
