The candidate will be responsible for several quarterly and annual deliverables for product boards, regulatory filings, rating agencies and risk committees, including the Executive Management Risk and Underwriting Committee (RUC) and Chubb’s Board of Directors. These responsibilities require an understanding of the insurance industry and factors impacting it, as well as an understanding of finance and macroeconomic fundamentals.
Projects often require tight completion timelines and close attention to detail. At any one-time, multiple projects may be ongoing so the ability to shift focus quickly from one project to another is necessary.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Production of ERM’s quarterly and annual risk accumulation analyses, reports, and presentations to various senior management and Board committees.
- Preparation of various ERM analyses including stress testing/reverse stress testing, industry data & competitor analysis, Rating Agency presentations, emerging risk, etc.
- Preparation of Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) for both internal management and regulatory filings at the Chubb group and/or legal entity level; updates to stress scenarios to reflect risk profile/external environment and enhancements to the ORSA report as appropriate
- Increase automation of exposure analyses, e.g. automation/increase efficiency of accumulation process and spreadsheets, development and use of querying tools
- Run & analyze models, parameterization, sensitivity testing and validation for business purposes
- Collaboration with offshore analytical team to support risk accumulation analyses
Qualifications
- Five years of relevant enterprise risk management and insurance industry experience;
- Strong business acumen essential; experience with corporate finance functions preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide clear and concise verbal and written communications of analyses, results, and work products
- Detail oriented with ability to manage complex processes to successfully complete projects and meet required deadlines
- Should have good organization skills and be able to maintain good documentation and record keeping
- Attainment of any one of the following professional designations preferred: ASA, ACAS, CPCU, CFA, MBA or MS Finance
- Experience with financial or credit analysis at macroeconomic or company level
- Familiarity with public data sources for financial analysis (e.g. Factset, Federal Reserve, BLS etc.)
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word required (including VBA macro skills and knowledge of data arrays and pivot tables), other MS Office applications (Access), and/or SQL a plus
- Experience with the following technologies: R or Python, SQL, Linux, HTML/CSS is a plus
In Jersey City, NJ the pay range for the role is $65,000 to $108,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
