Job Description Summary
Under the direction of the Director of the Escalette Permanent Art Collection, an academic unit of Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, the Podcast Developer will focus on expanding the collection’s series, “The Artist is Present,” on Catalyst through a range of tasks including researching artists in the collection, interviewing artists on Zoom, editing audio, writing blog posts about research. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director to develop five podcasts with high educational value to a diverse audience.
Responsibilities
- Research artists within the collection
- Collaborate with the Director to identify podcast themes or subjects that will be relevant to diverse audiences.
- Develop interview questions and coordinate interviews with artists on Zoom.
- Edit recorded audio and add intro and outros.
- Write blog posts about research findings or artists interviewed for the podcast.
- Work with Catalyst manager to prep audio to be published.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Professional, dependable, organized, and able to multi-task and collaborate.
- Excellent project management skills to consistently meet deadlines.
- Creative problem-solving and adaptability in developing new ideas.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Familiarity with podcasts and/or journalism and the desire to apply that knowledge in a professional setting.
