SUMMARY
Manages the overall port operation, which includes receipt, vessel off-loading scheme, vehicle survey and inspection, inventory management, daily processing production, scheduling, carrier release, rail operations, and regional/logistics interface. In some port locations, requires the management of export vehicles.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages daily processing requirements.
- Manages facility operations.
- Effectively communicates Subaru of America’s (SOA’s) shipping schedules.
- Communicates with external processing and transport vendors throughout their organization.
- Manages accessory and parts ordering and daily inventory requirements.
- Effectively uses Oracle-based data systems.
- Understands transport carrier requirements.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Familiar with Ice Station and IT requirements at port.
- Understands Custom’s documentation and requirements.
- Familiar with skilled (longshoremen & teamster) labor rules and agreements.
- Understands property/lease liabilities.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Highly motivated and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Keen negotiation skills in a waterfront environment.
- Understanding of SOA Oracle systems and communication network and Ice station issues.
- Ability to be available on a 24/7 basis.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 4-year college degree and 6-8 years’ experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- 50% work outside.
- Required Travel: 5%
COMPENSATION
The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $86,700 – $123,800 / year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
