Job Summary

New York Life Investment Management’s Product Data Solutions (PDS) is seeking a Portfolio Analytics Specialist to join the team in providing support to the team’s analysts and risk oversight process across various investment strategies and boutiques. This high-exposure, individual contributor role will be based in NYLIM’s Jersey City, NJ, office.

Job Description

The Portfolio Analytics Specialist will provide data management and support for analytics reporting for PDS to assess and monitor many investment strategies including equity, fixed income, as well as alternative investments.

Responsibilities

  • Automate data flow and reconcile data used in portfolio analytics systems
  • Implement and manage new reports for various users in the firm using different investment applications
  • Working with technology group to ensure accurate and timely data delivery
  • Provide support for reporting needs of various clients, including sales and marketing
  • Provide support for daily reports process

  • Investment product knowledge (Equities, Futures, FX, Fixed Income, Options, Bank Debt, Swaps, etc.)
  • Strong critical thinking skills and a high degree of intellectual curiosity
  • A belief in continuous improvement and an unrelenting attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work both independently as well as a team on multiple time-sensitive projects

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in the investment industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required with course work in Finance and Investments
  • Familiarity with writing SQL queries for analyzing data
  • Hands-on experience supporting one or more performance and risk-based platforms preferred (e.g. Bloomberg, FactSet, POINT, Aladdin, etc.)
  • Business Intelligence tool experience preferred (e.g. Tableau, QlikView, Power BI, etc.)
  • Some coding experience preferred (e.g. Python, C#, JAVA, etc.)

Salary range: $85,000-$125,000
