About the role:

As a member of the BIA Team, the Power BI Architect drives Sound’s Microsoft Power BI platform technology projects, product development and analytics that bring meaningful value to Sound’s leadership, specialties and programs. This individual is responsible for supporting and driving the Power BI platform vision and roadmap utilizing the latest technology to include augmented analytics and the latest in AI capabilities. The Power BI Architect represents multiple stakeholders (clinical and business) across Sound, and is responsible for communicating clearly and concisely with all stakeholders in understanding their needs and developing insights to meet those needs.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop partnerships with business stakeholders and facilitate clear communication related to all aspects of ongoing technology initiatives under the scope of BIA, with a particular focus on Power BI.
  • Understand stakeholder’s needs in developing business requirements in the BI context and design data models to convert raw data to meaningful insights.
  • Create dashboards and visual interactive reports using Power BI which meet stakeholder needs, using augmented analytics capabilities to advance Sound’s BI strategy.
  • Analyze data and present it through reports that can help in decision-making.
  • Ability to convert business requirements into technical specifications to develop insights and/or pass to other team members for development of insights.
  • Perform business analysis functions, including enlisting, documenting and prioritizing new insight requests to be developed on all Sound’s BI platforms, or via other automated reporting functionality within Sound.
  • Align Microsoft Power BI development with Sound’s technology strategy to ensure integrated insights, functionality and consistent user experience across all platforms, leveraging the latest in Power BI capabilities (e.g., AI and augmented analytics).
  • In development of Power BI platform and products, includes requesting security reviews, establishing monitor, alerting, and escalation processes, reviewing and socializing updates and releases, and managing an integration roadmap to ensure the BI technology ecosystem meets current and future needs of the organization.
  • Apply the Agile development process, orchestrating the delivery of new features and products to end-users – in collaboration with other BI strategies, or independently on internally developed technology solutions.
  • Project management including developing and maintaining project tracking capabilities to inform stakeholders of progress and status against key project milestones
  • Fully engage with agile teams by writing clear stories, prioritization of the backlog and implementing ongoing improvements through retrospectives
  • Create and maintain educational materials and documentation for BIA to support various user types.
  • Accountable to adhere to all internal controls, and maintain documentation as required by Sound’s policies and procedures
  • Customer oriented; develop relationships, anticipate and address the needs of all end-user groups effectively
  • Ability to present technical or complex concepts to peers and senior management with clarity and brevity
  • Actively collaborate across teams for on-time delivery of objectives

Special skills and abilities necessary to perform this job:

  • Thorough knowledge and expertise in business intelligence, databases, and technical BI concepts. Exceptional knowledge of Power BI, particularly Power BI Premium with augmented analytics and the latest AI capabilities (e.g., ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot)
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry
  • Alignment with Sound’s mission, vision and core values
  • Experience managing the entire project cycle from beginning to end

  • Experience working with software development preferably in an Agile software development environment
  • Proficiency with BI solutions, data manipulation tools, Microsoft Office Suite to include advanced Excel skills

Education and Experience:

Education

Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required.

Preferred: Master’s degree in relevant field is preferred.

Experience

Minimum: Three to five years of experience in a project/product management role, Power BI development, and healthcare preferred.

Preferred: Five to eight years of experience in a project/product management role related to Power BI plus business analyst exposure.

Pay Range: $100k-$110k base, plus bonus eligible. Exact pay will be determined based on candidate experience, geographical location.
