Power Generation & Transmission Program Manager

Job Description

Terracon is currently looking for a Program Management role within the Power Generation & Transmission (PG&T) business sector. The successful candidate will manage the electrical transmission and wind sub-markets of the PG&T business sector. The Program Manager will work collaboratively with Terracon Service Lines to set a strategic path for growth and diversification of Terracon’s three primary services: Geotechnical, Materials, and Environmental. The Program Manager will be expected to work closely with business operations to support project delivery. Additionally, close coordination will be required with the PG&T Business Development and Account Management Team. This position requires a keen sense of market understanding as the Program Manager will work directly with the National Director of PG&T to set business strategies and annual objectives. Success in the position will be measured by revenue growth, profitability, on-time project delivery, client satisfaction, and job safety.

Expectations of the Program Manager include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Project Management – Have a working understanding of project management for complex and multi-discipline projects. This includes familiarity with tools and programs for project scheduling and budget forecasting.
  • Market Knowledge – Have a mastery-level understanding of market dynamics and market drivers. Knowledge of key project funding incentives at both the state and federal level. Be familiar with major market participants and primary competitors. Keen awareness of the project pipeline and status of major projects in development. Understanding of electrical transmission and wind project sequencing and be able to identify injection points for Terracon services.
  • Strategically Minded – Comfortable forecasting market trends and translate that into a two, five, and ten-year plan for the programs.
  • Client Focused – Have a client-centric mentality in terms of project delivery and issue resolution, while being able to balance the interests of Terracon. Through experience within the industry build and maintain legacy client relationships.
  • Technical Acuity – Whereas this is not a technical role, it is expected that the Program Manager would understand the design options so that they could engage with and lead the talent to deliver the most appropriate design solutions.
  • Safety – In conformance with Terracon’s Incident and Injury Free (IIF) safety culture, lead through example and make safety the highest priority for every job.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in managing progressively larger projects and/or project portfolios.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing projects in the energy sector; preferably renewable energy (solar and wind) and electrical transmission.
  • Minimum of 20 years of consulting experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a degree in civil engineering, geologic science, or environmental science.

Preference will be given to candidates with any of the following certification: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma, or equivalent recognized project management certifications.

This position has been categorized as a “Remote Only” position. “Remote Only” employees do not have a designated workspace at an office, and typically work from home or another location.

The national standard salary range for this position is $100,200-$155,300. The base range may be adjusted based on the specific location of the applicant. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
