So what will you be doing all day? You would join us as a Pre-Construction Manager working on things like…
- Leading bid and preconstruction phases of projects
- Resolving issues impacting budget, scope, and schedule
- Advising on conceptual design solutions and potential alternatives
- Developing project win strategies and buyout strategies
- Executing buyout processes, including formulation of solicitation packages and subsequent subcontracts/purchase orders
- Evaluates proposals receives and conducts gap analysis
- Coordinating with cross-functional partners for projects
- Establishes, maintains and manages the project budget in collaboration with project stakeholders
- Prepares and oversees project turnover packages for project stakeholders
- Developing and conducting training exercises for other project team members
- Coordinate performance criteria, long lead items and complexities of logistics with project team
- Recommend equipment to owners/clients
- Provide consistency in quality control with the engineering design team on HBS projects
- Provide oversight and reviews construction documents, including drawings and specifications
- Review scope packages and assist project staff as needed
- Communicate directly with the client and their representatives to establish project requirements and verify effectiveness of proposed solutions
We’d love for you to apply for this position if you…
- Have a background in construction management, estimating, or mechanical/electrical/architectural engineering
- Possess at least 5+ years’ experience with HVAC design and/or construction in multiple vertical market sectors
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of construction or engineering preferred. Common examples include Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Engineering, and Construction Management.
- PE registration (or pursuit of such) preferred, but not required
- Ability to apply pragmatic thought processes to solve complicated issues
- Advanced proficiency in technical knowledge, the industry, codes, and standards relating to a limited range of practice, project, or program types
- Familiarity with estimating software platforms and estimating processes
- Experience formulating comprehensive budgets
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment, considering input from multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Intermediate financial acumen
- Understanding of client motivators, and ability to identify solutions best meeting objectives
- Advanced proficiency in technical knowledge, the industry, codes, and standards relating to a limited range of practice, project, or program types
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills specifically within Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Adapts to changing work environments, work priorities and organizational needs
- Generates ideas for improvement, takes advantage of opportunities, suggests innovations
- Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Ability to identify and understand relevant emerging technologies and industry trends
- Must be a self-starter, proactive and help others when needed
- Ability to travel 10%-25% of the time
- Ability to work varying shift times depending on the project, i.e., night or weekends
- Ability to be on your feet all day and climb ladders
- Valid driver’s license
Anticipated salary range for this position may be $86,000 – $108,000
Salary may be higher or lower than the stated range depending on factors unrelated to the applicant’s race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, ethnicity, age, or disability. Salary can vary from this range based on geographic cost of labor statistical differentials.
