Job Description
As a GMC Programmer, you are responsible for the programming of direct mail services; this includes following quality assurance procedures, providing assistance to other programmers and other departments, developing solutions to meeting unique customer needs, and any other tasks designated by the department supervisor or manager.
Responsibilities Include:
- Programming direct mail projects
- Remaining familiar with postal regulations and printing capabilities
- Performing quality assurance checks
- Printing reports and job documentation as required
- Providing extended hours coverage to departmental projects as required by schedule, supervisor, and manager
- Following safety guidelines for department and company
- Prepare graphic files for print across all print platforms while maintaining the integrity of the content art, design and brand/customer
- Responsible for image processing, including retouching, page makeup, file formatting, merging data, and performing counts on data
- Create image proofs and make file revisions as needed.
- May create impositions to process jobs for press
- Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager.

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $30.00 to $34.50 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include [no sign on bonus], overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay. Required Experience
- BS degree in programming or related field or minimal 3 years of industry work experience
- Mail personalization and postal processing knowledge a plus
- Strong internal and external customer satisfaction focus
- Extensive experience in Macintosh desktop publishing (including such software as QuarkXpress, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustration) is required.
- Demonstrated talent as an expert designer able to apply skills on any creative projects, including an understanding of the need to balance function and visual appearance to achieve successful communication.
