Description/Duties & Responsibilities
Primetime Preschool serves children ages 3-5 at multiple locations throughout Santa Clarita providing Kindergarten readiness with a curriculum that develops young learners socially, emotionally, physically, and academically.
Preschool Teacher’s Aide:
This position will work during the school year, September through May, Monday through Friday from approximately 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Additional hours received for training and meetings.
Substitute Teacher’s Aide:
This position will work during the school year, September through May, Monday through Friday from approximately 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at various locations throughout Santa Clarita. Selected candidates will be added to a substitute teacher’s aide pool on an as-needed basis to fill in for absent teacher’s aides.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works directly with the Preschool Teacher to provide preschool programs for children
• Supervises and leads children; maintaining staff/child ratio
• Organizes and prepares activities for children
• Greets patrons and participants and answers inquiries regarding programs
• Addresses behavior concerns in the classroom when necessary
• Performs first aid and responds to emergencies; reports incidents and accidents
• Assists in organization, set-up, and clean-up of facility
• Organizes, prioritizes and follows up on assignments
• Maintains various forms, logs, and reports
• Attends meetings and training sessions
• Other duties, as directed by Recreation Supervisor, Coordinator, and/or Preschool Teacher
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Six months of paid experience in preschool and/or child care programs
• Completion of Early Childhood Education (ECE) classes is highly desirable
• Possession of, or ability to maintain within one month of hire, Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid/AED.

In addition, part-time, temporary, and seasonal (PTS) employees may be required to participate in the DMV Employer Pull-Notice Program. This program authorizes the City to receive a driver record report upon enrollment and during employment.
PTS workers are at-will. Generally, PTS employees are limited to no more than 999 hours.
