The Preventative Maintenance & Facilities Technician is responsible for the following tasks:
- Performing preventative maintenance (PM) where applicable and maintaining PM database, including but not limited to accurate data entry of existing and new equipment as it relates to all aspects of maintenance during its life cycle. This is 50% of this position’s duties.
- Ensuring that Nomad’s facilities are always well maintained, clean, orderly, and in customer-ready condition. This is 50% of this position’s duties.
- Assisting with other maintenance and safety needs as requested.
Essential Functions / Responsibility:
- Build and follow maintenance schedules for Nomad vehicles, rental vehicles, and Production equipment.
- Provide record keeping reports of equipment.
- Schedule and perform PMs. Ability to direct additional personnel when needed to complete PMs.
- Keep all manufacturing equipment and facilities infrastructure in PM database and up to date. Examples of equipment include but are not limited to:
- Laser tables, Loewer, brake, shear, compressors, vehicles, trailers, forklifts, hand tools, table/chop saws, drill presses, sanders/grinders
- Provide regular updates and information as requested to supervisor, communicating concerns, repairs, and additional information to supervisor.
- Utilize company-provided ERP Maintenance software.
- Quote equipment repair and miscellaneous requests.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and other software to create presentations as needed and requested.
- Identify, source, and purchase parts for operational needs as required.
- Assist with establishing critical spare parts inventory and preferred contractors to expedite repair process when required.
- Identify and coordinate PM and seasonal facilities maintenance requirements (HVAC maintenance coordination, parking lot painting, snow removal, etc.)
- Provide regular updates and information as requested to supervisor, communicating concerns, repairs, and additional information to supervisor.
- Communicate with vendors and visitors to direct repairs and installations of equipment on campus.
Basic Knowledge Desired:

- Be knowledgeable of the safety requirements of the shop, as well as setting an example regarding safety standards that have been established by Nomad. Be active within the daily implementation of the shop’s safety standards, ensuring that all other personnel are adhering to the guidelines as well as working with management and their teams to create safer shop environment.
- Be knowledgeable about HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Be knowledgeable about general building and construction skills, materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repairs of buildings and other structures.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and is occasionally required to sit.
- At times, the employee will be required to work at heights up to 20 feet.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Anything heavier than 50 pounds will require two people to lift / carry.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish individual colors.
Working Environment:
- The work environment is a partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, temperatures can fluctuate between 60F and 100F but is typically around 70F. There are times when working outside will be required.
- The employee must have the ability to work from heights at the ground floor up to 20 feet from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.
- The employee may be subjected to noise levels, ranging from low volume to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time, which will be provided.
- The employee will be exposed to a variety of household/commercial chemicals that will require the employee to follow company rules/regulations outlined by that SDS.
- All Team Members must wear provided OSHA approved eye protection at all times in manufacturing areas. The employee will be required to wear provided safety eyewear throughout the performance of their duties.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of documented work experience in facilities/maintenance field preferred.
- Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Ability to work independently.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be dependable, arrive on time, and work entire scheduled shift.
- Must have good communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Must be willing to listen, learn, and follow instructions.
