Data Visualization and Automation team supports key executive initiatives across consumer products, including wireless, broadband, and digital. We provide the best user experience to consume key information, KPIs and analysis that is easy to use, easy to share, always available and aligned to a single source of truth to empower the organization.
As a Principal – Advanced Analytics, you help drive reporting and dashboarding transformation by leveraging your expertise in data engineering and visualization to optimize the backend data framework for disparate data sources, ensure the accuracy, alignment and availability of data, build robust automation processes, and create compelling visualization. You will foster strong relationships with various stakeholders across functional teams, apply your deep wireless domain knowledge translate complex analysis into actionable recommendations to C-level executives and partner organizations, and develop innovative solutions to drive efficiency and advance team capabilities.
This role will be based in El Segundo, CA; Dallas, TX; or Atlanta, GA
Responsibilities
– Business Acumen
o Have a good understanding and interpretation of KPIs across business. Able to identify business implications from KPI trends and possible root causes.
o Ability to turn strategic questions with vague but complex data into actionable, process-driven initiatives; must be able to evaluate at a 10,000-foot view but understand the nuanced nitty-gritty details behind drivers.
– Communication
o Be a point of contact for key executive leadership for the business unit and organization the team supports.
o Translate complex analysis and machine learning model results into actionable intelligence and recommendations for partner organizations and executives.
– Reporting & Visualization
o Develop actionable analytics and communicate insights via compelling visualizations and dashboards (PowerBI and/or Tableau)
o Develop best practices for visualizations and dashboards that are scalable for multiple use cases.
– Data Engineering & Automation
o Develop, evolve, and maintain core and analytic tables to adapt with the business and improve customer insights.
o Deliver efficiency and automation in recurring processes and analytics.
– Advanced Analytics
o Utilize advanced analysis and big data techniques to deliver detailed insights for driving company strategy, revenue growth, product integration and churn reduction.
o Perform adhoc analytics to solve high priority business goals. Support the evolution and use of customer data to segment customers and identify high-value cross-sell, up-sell, and retention targets.
o Develop, maintain, and deploy machine learning models to automate business insights. Apply parameter tuning and error analysis to improve model performance.
– Leadership
o Provide trainings and job shadowing to junior members of the team.
o Evaluate and test current toolset against evolving technologies to keep team armed with cutting-edge tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 8-10 years’ related experience in advanced analytics, relational database structures, big data, research methods, and sampling techniques, cohort analysis
- Extensive experience of Wireless business and deep understanding of one or more wireless products and the data landscape
- Data Engineering Guru with minimum 4+ years’ experience that is able to develop and maintain automated ETL processes to move data between disparate data sources, leveraging scripting tools such as Python, Airflow, Databricks, Palantir, Snowflake, and Microsoft Power Platform Solutions
- Strong Visualization expert with minimum 5+ years’ experience in Power BI and/or Tableau. Able to independently produce dashboards that drive actionable insights to leadership and business users.
- Experience with data science, DevOps engineering, financial analysis, product management and project management a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Advises business partners with regard to insights, patterns and relationships in data to recommend business direction or outcomes.
- Strong cross functional collaboration & team player with the ability to lead and mentor junior members.
- Experience with data science, machine learning and application of big data analytics tools
- SQL, Python or R programming
- Experience with any of the following: Snowflake, Palantir, Azure, AWS, Teradata, Oracle, Vertica, or Hadoop.
- Ability to think/build data pipelines and visualization solutions with short term and long term in mind.
- An understanding of the business segment, or stakeholders, and the ability to present analysis to audience at different level, from C-level executives to product owners.
Our Principal Advanced Analytics roles earn between $128,400 – $192,600. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
