The Data Science team at AT&T strives to lead transformation through data-driven decisions advancing the customer experience and businesses around the world. We are seeking an experienced self-driven software engineer who will design, develop and manage AT&Ts Big Data solutions which are tightly integrated with AI/ML and Large Language Model solutions. In this role, you will be required to design, implement cutting edge indexing and large language model pipelines, along with Big Data tools and frameworks, implement ELT processes, collaborate with development teams, build the backbone large language models on cloud platforms. You will also be required to work with data science team and build Generative AI based solutions for multiple business organizations across AT&T.
As a Principal Big Data Software Engineer, you will:
- Develop Gen AI applications using Chat GPT4 and other Open AI technologies.
- Help create knowledge store for enterprise using vector databases.
- Develop cloud-based systems using Databricks and Snowflake.
- Load disparate data sets and conducting pre-processing services using Hive or Pig.
- Finalize the scope of the system and delivering Data solutions.
- Help build Azure infrastructure to host mission critical applications.
- Collaborate with the software research and development teams.
- Mentor Junior Engineers
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Scientific Computing preferred.
- Requires 8-10 years of Big Data experience
- Hands on experience using Spark and similar frameworks.
- Knowledge of scripting languages including Java, C++, Linux, and Python.
- Knowledge of NoSQL and RDBMS databases including Redis and MongoDB.
- Familiarity with Azure, and Docker tools.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Ability to solve complex networking, data, and software issues.
Our Principal Big Data Software Engineers earn between $141,300 – $211,900 annually. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
