The Microsoft Silicon Engineering Solutions and Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) team is responsible for developing and delivering the hardware and firmware that is responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission. From cloud game streaming to data services, the hardware we design is contributing to the success of millions of customers .
The SCHIE team is looking for a Principal Business Manager to lead Global Communications Strategy, Planning and Execution, Org Health and Culture Initiatives, University Recruiting/Relations Strategy, and Business Management.
This will be a member of the executive office of the Corporate Vice President (CVP) reporting to the Chief of Staff and requires someone who has a strategic, business mindset; thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; and successfully partners with a wide group of stakeholders from senior leaders to individual contributors and support staff. A s the Culture Lead, they will be responsible for building a robust Culture Rhythm of Business, driving existing programs for recognition, culture, D&I and more, and creating new programs and content to further improve the employee experience , via storytelling . They will also manage our University Recruiting and Relations initiatives including ongoing Rythm of Business (demand planning, intern program management, etc.) and special projects like Diversity or Industry hiring events or university partnerships to grow a diverse early-in-career talent pipeline across all SCHIE geos .

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles
- OR equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of professional experience in Communications, Marketing Operations, Program Management, Project Management.
- 5+ years of people management experience.
- Experience working with engineering teams.
Other Qualifications:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

- 7 + years people management experience.
- Effective written, interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to simplify complex business and technology topics.
- Attention to detail, passion for creative thinking and strategic problem solving, and ability to deliver rich business content through story- telling.
- Ability to work with a variety of people across the organization, including senior leaders, individual contributors, and support staff.
- Ability to maintain good judgment in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment and effectively triage several competing priorities.
- Work independently to balance multiple tasks and competing priorities simultaneously.
Business Management M6 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 – $266,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 – $292,200 per year.

Responsibilities:

- Build and sustain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, universities, student organizations, professional associations, and diversity groups.
- Collaborate with leadership and cross functional partners to ensure strategic alignment for long-term goal setting.
- Identify opportunities for SCHIE to take a position of leadership when it comes to D&I or culture initiatives, including building relationships outside of AHSI or its Culture Community.
